Product contains 500 mg of HYDROXYUREA.

Hard gelatin capsule consists of two parts, green-opaque and pink-opaque.

Therapeutic properties:

The treatment of certain cancer diseases such as cervical cancer.

Also used in the treatment of chronic myelocytic leukemia.

Used in the treatment of sickle cell anemia.

Side Effects:

Anorexia.

Vomiting as a result of nausea.

Gastrointestinal problems for example diarrhea or constipation.

Headache.

Hair loss as a result of hair thinning. But it is temporary.

Darkening of skin color.

Skin and nail loss.

Abdominal pain.

Painful urine.

Dosage:

Dose is 80 mg/kg in intermittent therapy and 20-30 mg/kg in continuous therapy.

Also 80 mg/kg every 3 days in combined treatment with radiotherapy.

The starting dose in sickle cell anemia is 15 mg/kg orally administered once a day. If blood counts are within acceptable range, dose increase by 1.5 mg/kg/day every 12 weeks.

Please especially consult your doctor for the best dosage.

Tips:

If you are undergoing radiation therapy, you should take HYDREA 7 days before irradiation.

Take HYDREA carefully while you have renal disease or HIV.
